Business Development Manager is responsible for seeking and attracting new customers through networking, referrals, and cold calling. A successful person in this role should be good at lead development, problem solving and troubleshooting, negotiating, closing sales, and teamwork.

The Business Development Manager position is paid using a base salary plus commission structure. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s mission, vision, and values. In addition to the competitive salary, business development managers may be eligible for benefits and perks like:

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Research and identify potential clients for our landscape maintenance and snow removal services.
  • Call on prospective clients, seek out, and build relationships with key decision-makers in these organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with other Strauser Nature’s Helpers team members to develop proposals that meet the client’s needs and concerns.
  • Handle sales objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences. Negotiate contracts keeping in mind the interests of the company.
  • Attend industry functions and stay abreast of market trends.
  • Be prepared to educate potential clients on current landscaping trends and practices.
  • Keep CRM (HubSpot) and operating system (Aspire) updated regularly.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record to meet corporate insurance standards.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience 3-5 years of verified business-to-business sales experience with track record of sales success (meeting or exceeding goals).
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Suite, Google/Gmail Platform, and CRM systems.

WORK CONDITIONS

Employees in this position should expect frequent local travel and must be able to offer flexibility with work hours outside of regular business hours to meet client needs including nights and weekends. This position may require working from various locations or from home as needed.
